A wet spring recharged the soils at Heggies after a very dry autumn and winter, leading to healthy canopies on all of our Riesling vines. A milder February and March lead to early flavour development at lower baumes than usual and wonderful natural acids. Heggies Vineyard Eden Valley Riesling 2006 is pale straw in colour. Aromas of fresh lime and apple blossom signal a classic Heggies Riesling. The palate is restrained with citrus and pear flavours. A mineral backbone and chalky acid texture complete the finish.
