Early spring rain and low temperatures during the ripening season of the 2002 vintage allowed the fruit to ripen slowly resulting in full flavoured grapes with exceptional balance. Reductive handling, minimal maceration and cool fermentation with aromatic yeast strains has preserved the fruit flavours found naturally in the Heggies Vineyard Riesling.
Heggies Vineyard Riesling 2002 is pale straw in colour, with green tints and shows a complex nose of lime and citrus blossom. The palate is full of excellent fruit that is balanced with crisp acidity, ensuring the wine will cellar for many years to come.
